Age Discrimination

Age just a number Having recently celebrated my 60th birthday got me to thinking about what it means to get older.  As you get older, when certain situations occur, it makes you wonder does it have to do with age.  A position is created, various people of different ages apply.  Guess who gets the job?  The youngest to apply of course!  Is this fair?  Does this happen?  Has it happen to you?  What do you do about it?

You are valuable regardless of your age.  As we age in life, we gain a certain amount of wisdom.  That depends really on how you’ve lived your life and availed yourself to life’s lessons.

Humans have the ability to learn and keep learning.  We have different personalities, talents, and gifts.  Some of us are great cooks, some know how to put colors and outfits together, while others are good teachers, and some hold the ability to make a bad situation better.

Whatever your age, know your worth.  Know your strengths as well as your weaknesses.  As I’m aging gracefully I encourage myself that age is just a number.  I’m valuable, I love learning, being creative, and I love encouraging others.

If you are focusing too much on the past.  Stop it!  Look ahead and see the good you can do and the difference you can make in the world.

So teach us to number our days that we apply our hearts to wisdom.  Psalms 90:12
