I frequently walk in my neighborhood, giving my muscles a good workout on the hilly terrain. My senses also are awakened with the delights of tulips, forsythia, crabapple, pear, and redbud trees in peak bloom. Springtime in Michigan is bursting with hope and expectation. The season changes have a way of wiggling into my soul and stirring up inspiration. I often draw on nature for new ideas, weaving together different textures, color combinations, and shapes in my designs. After one of my walks, I find myself motivated to unleash creativity in my studio and put the visual impressions into a wreath, gift basket, or specialized accent. I encourage you to take advantage of the warmer weather and treat your senses to a dose of discovery.
